About the Veil

The Veil of the Holy of Holies: Meaning and Significance for Believers

In the Temple described throughout the Old Testament, the veil of the Holy of Holies served as a powerful symbol of the separation between a holy God and sinful humanity. The inner sanctuary—called the Holy of Holies—was the most sacred place in the Temple, believed to be the dwelling place of God’s presence among His people. A thick curtain separated this chamber from the rest of the Temple, and only the high priest could enter it, and only once a year on the Day of Atonement. This veil represented the barrier created by sin, reminding Israel that access to God was restricted and that holiness required atonement.

For Christians, the veil takes on profound significance through the life and sacrifice of Jesus Christ. According to the Gospel accounts, at the moment of Christ’s crucifixion and death, the Temple veil was torn from top to bottom, symbolizing that the barrier between God and humanity had been removed. Through Christ’s sacrificial death, believers are no longer separated from God but are invited into direct relationship with Him. The tearing of the veil represents the completion of Christ’s redemptive work and the opening of a new covenant in which forgiveness and reconciliation are freely offered.

Today, the veil stands as a powerful theological symbol for Christian believers. It reminds us that through Christ we now have access to God’s presence—not through ritual sacrifice or earthly priesthood, but through faith in the finished work of Jesus. What was once hidden behind the veil has now been revealed, inviting believers to approach God with confidence, humility, and reverence. The veil that once separated humanity from God now serves as a testimony to the grace that restores that relationship.

The Veil books: Why and how were they written.

Way back in ancient times, back in 2010, before AI and all our modern technology. A man in Orlando Florida was doing some soul searching. That man had lost his health, career and potentially, his family. That man was me. I had been led to Christ by my girlfriend Cindy (and future wife) in 1991. My conversion was an incredible story, but that story will have to wait.

Like many, I worked hard at chasing success, honing my artistic talents and building my skill set as an architectural illustrator. I had some success as a freelancer, and then worked in-house for a few architectural firms in Florida. I landed my dream job in 2003, working for a mid-sized firm based out of the USVI. I spent the next 5-7 years traveling and producing, hand-rendered artwork for some of the most luxurious homes and resorts in Florida and throughout the Caribbean. At the end of 2008 that all ended. The layoff came at the same time that I started recieving weekly injections for a medical illness. These treatments lasted a year. Due to the major recession of 2008, there was almost no work in my field. I took a job working nights as a security guard. The job was 15 miles away. My car broke down 3-4 months after starting this new position.
